Transform Your Home with These Top White Paint Colors for Walls
If you’ve followed along our remodeling journey, you’ll know that our go-to interior color is white - surprise surprise! We thought we would break down our favorite go-to white colors for you since there are over 150+ shades of white paint colors to choose from. Crazy right?!
#1 Alabaster - Sherwin Williams
We found Alabaster to be the perfect shade of white for this little cape cod home in Minnetonka, and we’ve loved it so much that we have used it in multiple homes. We found that this color works best when you paint the walls, trim, and even ceilings in Alabaster to create a creamy cohesive feel. Alabaster has an extra white base but adds a touch of cream that makes it not feel like a doctor’s office. It’s white with a “touch” of warmth. We always recommend you test it out first as lighting, flooring, and furniture can affect its appearance.
#2 Incredible White - Sherwin Williams
We used this color at our Hale Project in Minneapolis and painted the trim ‘Extra White’ by Sherwin Williams to create contrast. This makes “Incredible White” look almost like a very, very light neutral gray. This is a color we definitely recommend testing on your walls next to your trim and cabinets. We’ve gone away from this color on other projects because the flooring and lighting can give it a subtle pink undertone. So test, test, test!
#3 Shoji White - Sherwin Williams
At our recent Rhode Island project in Saint Louis Park, we wanted to appeal to a broad audience for resale purposes, and not everyone wants EVERYTHING white! This color is the perfect fit if you are looking for a warm white with greige undertones (beige and grey). We like this color because it brings warmth to a room without feeling too cold or grey. No wonder it ended up in multiple offers, as it was cozy and appealed to the masses. And, next to ‘Extra White’ trim, it’s a perfect neutral, light greige.
The nice thing about paint is you can ALWAYS change it! So don’t be afraid to throw up some samples and get after it. Stay tuned for our next blog post on our favorite exterior shades, and always reach out if you ever have any questions.
