I highly recommend this adorable Llama farm located in the rolling hills of Waconia right outside of Minnetrista. I absolutely love trying new things with the kiddos, and this was one of our all-time favorite adventures.

No guided tour necessary! These llamas were fantastic with the little ones.

The drive was a quick 25 minutes outside of Minnetonka, and it’s completely worth it! Who knew a place right outside the cities could be so magical. When we arrived we parked near the roaming gated llama area and then ventured down to the llama barn where one of the owners kindly greeted us.

Prior to our walking adventure with the llama’s, we were given a private little history lesson all about llamas. At this point, I believe the adults were more intrigued vs the kids, as the kids were busy on the side petting and giving the llama’s hugs:)

Don’t forget to schedule your visit in advance!

It was fully booked out for a few weeks prior to our scheduled visit. Weekend’s seem to book up quick.

After the history lesson on the Llama’s every kid was given a llama of their own to walk! This made me anxiously laugh as I wasn’t so sure my four-year-old would be able to do this on his own. However, it went so smoothly and these llamas clearly knew the path to stay on.

The Llama visit took about 45 mins all in as the walk is a bit slower-paced, which was great for the kids. This was hands down the best $10.00 (per person) that I have ever spent. Plus, you will get amazing photos of some of the friendliest animals around!

Our son still talks about Carlson’s loveable LLama’s, and we can’t wait to book our next visit soon! I wish we would have known about Carlson’s loveable llamas sooner! Such a great activity to do with kids, and even better on a perfect fall day.

This is a must-do activity with kids if you are looking to venture out into the western suburbs in Minnesota. Enjoy:)
